Corona Energy’s Q and A’s for contracted SME customers

Q - How much will I pay for gas used within my contract?
A – Corona Energy pride ourselves on giving our customers what they want, and because of this we aim to provide customers with fixed market reflective contract rates. The pricing structure (including daily charges if applicable) will be outlined in the gas supply agreement.

Q – Can the price that I have accepted change at any time during this contract?
A – The total contract consumption is purchased on acceptance to ensure that our customers benefit from fixed prices throughout their contract. However, for customers who sign up to our usual SME contracts, your price can be changed if any of the following situations occur;

    * You fail to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined when signing the contract.
    * The operator of the pipeline network you are connected to increases their transportation rates.
    * A change in law, regulation or tax.

We will notify you in writing should any of the above situations occur.

Q – How long is my contract due to run for?
A – The most popular length of contract that Corona Energy offers is for a 12 month period. The reason for this is to allow us to forward purchase the required amount of gas needed to supply our customers at the best rate we possibly can. However, should you wish to sign for longer that 12 months, please call us to discuss the best option to suit you. You will find your start date and initial supply period on the contract that you have been issued.

Q – What happens at the end of my contract?

A – In order to ensure we can offer our customers competitive prices, we will normally purchase gas for a 12 month period. Because of this, prior to the end of your contract period, we will remind you of your renewal date. In the event that your renewal price is higher than your current contract price, we will make sure that you have the opportunity to discuss this with us to ensure you can get the best deal possible.

Q – What happens if I terminate my agreement, and do not transfer suppliers?
A – In order for us to offer our customers the most competitive rates, the best way to purchase gas is up front. However, when customers terminate their contract with us, we are restricted to buying small amounts of gas and this tends to increase the cost. Because of this, all gas consumed after the contract expiry date will be charged at our much higher out of contract rate.

Q – Can I end the contract early?
A – The majority of our customers benefit from a fixed price for the duration of their contract. To allow us to do this, the amount of gas that is needed for us to supply our customers for the contract length is purchased up front. Due to this, we will not allow our customers to end contracts mid-term.

Q – If I wish to switch gas supplier, how and when do I contact you?

A – Whilst we attempt to ensure that our customers are completely satisfied with the service we provide, we understand that some customers will move suppliers. Should you wish to switch, you will need to write to us to inform us of this at least 60 days prior to your contract ending.

Q – Can you stop me switching supplier?

A – Corona Energy recognise the fact that all customers shop around for better deals within the market and because of this, we aim to please all of our customers by offering continued low rates and award-winning customer service. Therefore, there are only 2 situations where we will object to our customers transferring supplier and they are:

    * The contract has not been terminated.
    * The contract has not run its full course.

Q – Who do I need to ask for and what information will they need from me when I call you?

A – Corona Energy has a dedicated Customer Service Team who will be happy to help with any questions you may have. You can get in touch with us by calling 08442 64 64 64 and selecting the option you require. Please have your MPR (Meter Point Reference) Number(s) ready - so we can assist you as quickly as possible – which can be found on a copy of any of your recent invoices.

Q – Can you cut my gas supply off and under what circumstances can you do so?
A – Corona Energy have the right to isolate (cut off) our customers gas meter for non-payment of gas supply or for Health and Safety reasons. Should this arise, we will make every effort to notify you in writing prior to the procedure starting.

Q – What options do you offer regarding payment terms?
A – Corona Energy’s preferred payment type is Direct Debit. This is for ease of payment collection and helps us achieve competitive rates for our customers. However, if you cannot pay by Direct Debit, we can also accept BACS or Cheque payment.

Q – Do I need to consume a specific amount of gas throughout my contract?

A – Corona Energy’s usual contracts do not have a minimum or maximum demand on gas consumption. However, in our larger consumption contracts (for customers consuming over 2,930,710 kWh annually) it is necessary to include a clause in the contract. Please speak to us for more information on this product.

If you have any other questions regarding Corona Energy’s contract terms, please contact us on 08442 64 64 64 and we will be happy to assist you in any way we can. Please note that the above is not a legally-binding document.  It is a summary only and does not form part of our contractual terms and conditions themselves.
