A day in the life of a SME sales agent
I started at Corona back in February 2017 as a temp to help clear a backlog of admin work. As soon as started I knew I was in company that invested in its staff. The training was informative and the trainers were patient. After my training was complete I was involved in helping with set up of all bespoke tenders. This involves putting open tenders onto our systems so our sales associates could send prices out.
After only one month of temping I was offered to join the Corona family full time. Soon the matrix price book team was formed. My day to day job involves engaging with our brokers regarding all price book queries, this can be regarding contracts, issues, pricing requests or any information brokers need. Once a signed contract has been sent in it’s all systems go to get this contract locked in. I will put in all the company and meter details onto our in-house systems. Once all the information was loaded I will enter in the prices the customer has agreed to. Once credit has passed and my manager has checked and signed off the contract I can get this contract locked in.
As the months went on I was offered further exciting opportunities to add on to my normal day to day work. I was asked to help with the new connections setups and deal with the customer aftercare. This involved all the admin work for new installs so our dedicated sales agent could send prices out for all new connections, If we won the meter I would deal with all the paper work and make sure the new meter gets installed. Also I was asked to help with the objections team. This involves helping running the reports on all meters that have been objected to by the current supplier and inform the brokers so these meters go live and don’t get lost.
My time so far at Corona has been so rewarding and I have grown in confidence in myself and in the energy industry. Every individual you encounter in any department is always happy to help any way they can and it’s such a friendly atmosphere. The team I work with are like a big family, we look out for each other and help each other out when needed.
