What does the job entail?

There is an opportunity to join an established Project Team delivering a multi-million pound system upgrade programme, with objectives for providing assurance, governance and support to the programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for reporting, assurance, quality control, information management, financial tracking, risk and issue management, change control and maintaining governance standards across the programme.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Produce and distribute progress reports for the Programme with clear metrics (TCQ) and RAG status
  • Ongoing management and monitoring of the RAID log escalating status changes and focussing on improving the quality and consistency
  • Support project planning & prioritisation of resources to limit conflicts within the Programme and across the business
  • Capture data to support tracking project timelines and resource and reporting deviance
  • Analysis of data to identify both current and forecasted challenges with emphasis on the ability to present clear, concise, evidenced data
  • Support to the Change Management process and facilitation of progression of change control
  • Monitor and report against Budget & Forecast & Actual financials whilst also tracking benefit realisation
  • Perform activities required to purchase and receipt resources, goods and services, ensuring adherence to financial controls
  • Central point of contact for programme related information for internal and external stakeholders
  • Liaison with supplier PMO resource to ensure Programme alignment
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to the project management methodology and delivery processes
  • Provide administrative services including scheduling meetings, booking meeting rooms, taking minutes, distributing papers, creating reports and presentations, and other ad-hoc administrative tasks
  • Any other reasonable duties as defined by management

Skills & Experience:

  • A proven track record of having worked as a PMO Analyst within an IT environment
  • Experience of programme or portfolio reporting and planning
  • Knowledge of financial and resource management processes and data
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret large data sources and summarise clearly
  • Facilitation skills
  • Excellent organisational and administration skills, with good attention to detail
  • Able to manage stakeholder expectation and challenge confidently unrealistic expectations
  • Good oral communication skills with the ability to explain and present performance results and analysis
  • Strong report writing and presentation skills with the ability to understand and assimilate information from multiple sources and prepare and present reports to various audiences (internal and external)
  • Experience of having worked on both Waterfall and Agile projects would be an advantage
  • Advanced user of all MS Office applications
  • Good team player that can quickly build rapport with individuals from all levels and departments of the company
  • Strong problem-solver, able to work under pressure, balancing competing demands
  • Adaptable, approachable and flexible approach to work
