What does the job entail?

The Legal and Risk Coordinator is an exciting new role supporting the Commercial Solicitor with BAU business tasks, business projects and to aid the risk team in auditing the business to ensure the company fulfils its legal and regulatory requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To coordinate and maintain the supply contract T&Cs so they are fit for purpose
  • Provide first line support for contractual queries from business
  • Provide upskilling to business so can be more self-sufficient in assessing contractual obligations prior to legal consultation or sign-off
  • To provide first line support for initial review, consultation on 3rd party arrangements
  • To update and maintain documentation, processes and procedures
  • Administer documentation storage and access
  • Undertake contract audits for control purposes
  • Own, maintain and deliver operational risk controls
  • Manage and administer external legal service providers
  • Any other reasonable duties as defined by management

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a commercial Paralegal
  • Experience conducting legal research
  • Secured LLB/GDL to at least a 2:1 or equivalent experience
  • Needs to be a self-starter and able to work with limited direct supervision
  • Enthusiastic and committed to providing excellent levels of service to internal customers
  • Energy retail experience (desired but not essential)
  • Excellent written skills with an eye for detail and accuracy
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Is proactive and curious
  • Owns issues and their resolutions and completing work to a required standard
  • Able to organise their day to complete a number of tasks and willingness to get the job done
  • Operates in an open, honest manner showing the utmost of integrity
  • Willing to contribute to discussions and sharing opinions in a constructive and collaborative manner
