What does the job entail?

The purpose of the Project Manager is to lead and implement projects that deliver and support business growth. This role requires analysis of business need and translation into project deliverables and the ultimate delivery against success criteria. The typical projects you will be involved in are IT and system based, e.g. implementation of new CRM, IVR and new refresh programmes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement projects to deliver business growth, realise operating cost savings and/or reduce operational risk
  • Working closely with the Programme Manager, planning and proactively managing projects, or work-streams, through the entire project lifecycle, from initiation to implementation and closure
  • Ensuring appropriate governance and risk management is achieved through application of project management standards
  • Pro-actively monitoring project costs against budget and progress against plan, applying your knowledge and experience to identify and mitigate potential risks and issues
  • Requirements capture and translation to project scope
  • Able to develop and deliver Business Case for business & financial authorisation
  • Prepare and maintain all project documentation: delivery plans, cost benefit analysis and budgets
  • Develop and maintain communication plans and reporting documentation to ensure regular engagement with all project stakeholders
  • Identify and plan for resource allocation and manage conflicts
  • Track and report on progress against project deliverables
  • Manage the effective delegation of all scheduled tasks and changes through appointment and monitoring of work stream owners
  • Managing risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholder
  • Establish Success Criteria and Test Plans to track benefits
  • Business Planning according to company strategy
  • Carry out other reasonable duties as determined by Senior Management

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven record of delivering Projects throughout the Project Lifecycle from Inception to Acceptance
  • Working knowledge and use of Project Management methodologies such as Agile (SCRUM) / Prince 2 / Waterfall
  • Working knowledge / use of Project Management reporting tools
  • Experience of delivering complex System and IT Projects
  • Ability to translate business requirement into specifications
  • Proven experience of Vendor selection and management of third party suppliers
  • Strategically aligned, can see the bigger picture and can align delivery to business goals
  • Commercially focussed, able to set and operate within budget and deliver commercially viable projects
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage stakeholder expectations, influence, challenge constructively and collaborative effectively to deliver business needs
  • Proactive, flexible, self-driven
  • Inspiring others/ Leading by example
  • Strong time management, organizational and planning skills
  • Team player with strong leadership and influencing skills in a matrix environment
  • Educated to ‘A’ level standard or equivalent
  • Preferable qualification in Project Management Methodology
  • Preferable APM accreditation
  • Microsoft package levels: Intermediate level
  • Be prepared to occasionally work additional hours and travel as required
