A Day in the Life of a Project Manager

Bhavesh, when did you start working at Corona Energy?

I started working at Corona Energy around six months ago. Prior to this I worked for Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) within asset finance where I was part of the Business Transformation Team working on Operating Model.

What attracted you to joining the company?

I decided to continue my career at Corona as the prospect of lots of exciting things happening at Corona Energy and being offered the opportunity to work on a large scale system implementation projects whilst utilising my skills and knowledge I have developed so far in my career, was the perfect fit for me.

What skills do you need to be a Project Manager?

In my experience it is really important to be organised, a team player and resilient to change. Being adaptable and ready for anything as well as having a mind set to challenge the status quo in everything you do will support you as a Project Manager at Corona Energy. I am currently working on strategic business and IT projects across the business. I am responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget and managing the relationships between third parties to ensure deadlines are met.

What does a typical day look like?

Every day is a new challenge at Corona Energy; it’s a fast paced environment with lots going on. In any one day I could be taking part in external meetings with third party suppliers, attending brainstorming sessions or I could be travelling to a different part of the world to meet with our partners.

What’s the best thing about your team?

It’s definitely the people! Even at the interview stage I was made to feel welcome, now it’s like having an extended family!

What would you say is the best thing about your role?

I’ve been given the opportunity to collaborate with all departments of the business as well as suppliers from across the globe. It’s given me the insight to be successful and to make a positive difference every day.

What do you do in your spare time?

Like many people I love travelling and seeing new places. I’m quite an active person and enjoy playing sports and going to the gym. Also recently I have started getting involved in photography and would like to spend more time to get better at it.
