Why does my bill show a charge for the Climate Change Levy (CCL) and what is it for?

The climate change levy is an environmental tax, introduced in 2001, charged on business’s energy bills. It was introduced to encourage businesses to use their energy in a more energy efficient manner. Please be aware that businesses that also pay the 20% tax rate also are charged the CCL. Corona Energy do not profit from the CCL, the tax it goes directly to environmental needs supported by the government.
